Timing:
Try to feed your little one just before the portrait session. Baby will be more content with a full belly and more likely to snooze and snuggle through your session.
Plan for me to arrive about 10-15 minutes prior to your portrait session to get set up. Baby does not need to be ready until your scheduled portrait time.
Set Up:
If possible, try to clear a spot in the house that receives a large amount of natural light. I will be bringing lights with me, but the more natural light we can get, the better!
Clothing:
Depending on parent’s preferences, Baby will change outfits a number of times. We will take some photos in his or her “birthday suit” or a simple diaper. Have all Baby’s outfits handy throughout the session.
Props:
If you have any special items for Baby, please have them handy for the portrait session. Handmade blankets, special gifts, etc. Even if we don’t get to everything, the more we have on hand the better!
Parents and Siblings:
For family portraits with Baby, simple clothing is best! Parents should also have a solid black shirt to wear in some photos.
Breaks:
Plan to take lots of breaks. We want Baby to be content to be prepared to stop to feed him or her at will.
